Homeward is a class that uses mindfulness practice and the creative process to steer us inward. With so much emphasis on our external selves throughout our days, this class is designed to focus our attention on our internal world. We will explore an essential question each week that will guide us through our process. The questions and coinciding meditation will be aimed at inviting your inner wisdom to the table and then creating from that place. There will be an extensive variety of media (drawing, painting, found object, collage and print-making materials) to utilize. The process will unfold intuitively with the content being self-directed and the process supported by my guidance and instruction. We will close with a group share that allows for the exchange of ideas and insights.

This is an 8 week course exploring the power of and intersection points between mindfulness practice, self-inquiry and art making. The classes will meet in the evening from 7-9pm. We will do a short sit, followed by an introduction of the essential question we will be investigating for that session (example: what makes me expand? what makes me contract?). I will also intro a technique each week that can be utilized or not. Over the course of 8 weeks the following processes will be explored: drawing with various media, painting (watercolor + acrylic), printmaking, collage and working with found objects. There will be 80 minutes of workshop time and we will close with a group share and sit.
